Wagwaan London?

London was a combination of recovery from jet lag and just hanging out. I stayed at Natasha’s house the whole time and got to meet her family and some of their friends. Everyone was awesome. They had other guests from Australia and Argentina in the house, so it was almost another little I-House in London for a few days.

The first day I met up with Katie Dash (hands up!) and we walked around Wimbledon which was really crowded with tennis-heads because of the tournament. I tried to spot Federer in the streets but had no luck.

Biking the City

The best part by far was a cool bike ride all around London from Wimbledon to South Bank and back. Tash’s parents let us take their bikes, so we were off. In London it is mostly illegal to ride on the sidewalk, which definitely added to the intensity of the ride. We had to manage roundabouts with buses and Hackneys all in the opposite direction, it was a rush. Just to top it off, brake cables on bicycles in the UK are opposite, too: The right handle does the front brake. That took some getting used to.

We saw Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Westminster, The London Eye, etc. but the most interesting parts were the parks and the random side streets on the way to South Bank.

It was all over pretty quickly, and then I was off to Barcelona.

Sounds like you hit some good places- touristy and local. I hope you indulged in some bangers and mash- a personal London favorite.

Any Harry Potter sightings?? (sorry, I had to ask)

I did see several hundred school children in matching uniform… all speaking with British accents. I’m sure they couldn’t have all been Muggles.
