Now that I’ve actually spent a couple weekdays sleeping in and being lazy, Summer has finally hit me. A few of my friends in the La Jolla/UTC area have been kind enough to host Elliot, Sara and I for a few days in their homes.

Today I went to La Jolla Shores and did an epic swim (1.4 miles) in the ocean. We had planned on stopping at the La Jolla Caves or swimming into the La Jolla Cove beach, but the swells were enormous so it seemed a bit dangerous. Another friend brought a camera that was waterproof so we snapped a ghetto group photo while everyone was treading water.

We followed that up with some hot tub action, pasta, and smoothies. Nice.

Trip Preparations

Right now I’m doing a lot more research on pre-departure issues, like Travel Insurance, Transport, Packing, etc.  I might post an article about that in a couple weeks if I’m able to pull together enough interesting resources for it.
